College of Charleston gets grant for 3-D
The College of Charleston’s geology and environmental geosciences department has been awarded a $4.1 million grant from Seismic-Micro Technologies, a software and 3-D visualization company.
Software and training materials will be linked to the department’s 3-D visualization laboratories in the college’s new Science Center and on computers throughout the department.
“Having this product available to our students will make them more marketable and competitive for private-sector jobs and graduate schools focused on oil and gas exploration, groundwater studies, resource delineation and hazards assessments,” said Scott Harris, assistant professor of geology and environmental geosciences.
