The Honors College is hiring Peer Advisors for the 2026/27 academic year! Help your fellow Honors College students succeed while building up your own leadership and advising skills.

- CofC undergrad with 30+ hours earned

Peer Advisors serve as knowledgeable academic resources throughout the year, helping students access academic support services, use academic technology, and make informed decisions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work 5–6 hours/week for 8–9 weeks per semester; paid $11/hour.
- Provide academic guidance and respond to student questions.
- Coach students on adjusting their PACE Navigator with degree and co-/extracurricular requirements.
- Hold regular walk-in hours:
- Refer students/guests to appropriate campus resources
- Respond to questions or concerns
- Help prepare materials for advising activities
- Train students in Registration procedures and update instructions on the HONORS HUB.
- Support programming such as the Faculty Fair and Registration Week.
- Create/update Advising modules for OAKS cohort classes.
- Contribute to social media and web-based communication on advising topics.
Key Qualifications
- Maintain a 3.4 GPA and a clear judicial record throughout employment.
- Be a currently enrolled CofC undergraduate with 30+ earned hours and two completed semesters at CofC by employment start.
- Demonstrate a desire to help peers make informed decisions.
- Show strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Exercise discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Model ethical behavior and good judgment.
- Build rapport with diverse students, staff, and faculty.
- Possess strong knowledge of CofC resources, systems, and registration procedures.
- Be flexible, adaptable, and skilled in time management.
