What’s Happening: Members of the Honors College team, led by Dean Beth Meyer-Bernstein, will be passing out goodies & beverages and wishing all Honors students good luck as they begin the fall semester.

When and Where: Tuesday, August 20 any time between 8:00 – 9:45 a.m. We’ll be set up on the front porch of 6 Green Way (in Cougar Mall by the fountain).

  • All are welcome, as HSA events are open to all CofC students (so bring your friends!).

Job Opening: Nutrition Coordinator with Lowcountry Food Bank

The Lowcountry Food Bank is hiring a Nutrition Coordinator for the Tri-County Region.

The Opportunity: This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. The coordinator will be responsible for the administration of nutrition activities funded through the federal SNAP-Education program in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.

  • Responsibilities include program coordination and materials management, community networking and outreach, direct nutrition education, relationship building, volunteer management to conduct SNAP-Education activities, and support of the overall Community Programs team. This person will work with our partner agencies to coach them and provide nutrition recommendations and strategies for Policy, System, and Environmental (PSE) changes.

Great fit for: Great field experience or first job out of college for recent or impending graduate.

Part-time childcare job opportunity

The opportunity: Assist a local mom in picking up two middle school kids from East Cooper Montessori Charter School on Rifle Range Rd. in Mt. Pleasant; then providing supervision and transportation to activities.  Children are 12/14 and very self-sufficient.

  • Ideally 3 days a week to start, 2:30-4:30.
  • Additional hours if interested and available. Very flexible!
  • $20/hour to start.

Halsey Institute internship

The College’s Halsey Institute offers a fall semester internship for students (and recent graduates) looking to gain experience in a professional gallery setting.

What to expect: Halsey Institute internships are structured with three-week rotations under direct guidance and mentorship of each Halsey Institute staff member in the areas of development, marketing, exhibitions, administration, and education. Interns are scheduled with weekly visitor services shifts at the front desk of the Halsey Institute to create meaningful interactions with gallery visitors.

The dates: The Fall 2024 internship session will begin on Tuesday, August 20.
