Internships: Editing, Writing, Photography and Social Media Positions at the Rival

The Rival is an online publication written by students and aimed at the college community in Charleston. They report on local events and trends, as well as write opinion-editorials and satire on political, economic, and social issues.

They are currently recruiting new staff members for writing, editing, photography, and social media management positions for the fall semester. They are actually looking to reach a new group of talented and passionate students for our publication. I have pasted the link to the online application for the fall semester to the bottom of this email, and it includes role descriptions for each position.

From the editors: The deadline to apply is August 29th, but we will not be going through the applications until a bit later this week, so if a student needed more time to fill out the application, we would definitely be able to work with them as long as they let us know they were interested.

The Rival is not a registered school organization, but rather an outside source of news, commentary, and satire for College of Charleston students. The Rival, as a national organization, is a rapidly growing network of university publications, including, but not limited to George Washington University, UCLA, Duke University, New York University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Tulane University, and University of Maryland. In addition, a position with the Rival would help students develop skills such as writing, event planning, marketing, and create connections with other students on campus interested in investigative journalism.
