Position Summary Lovell Communications, one of the nation’s leading health care public relations firms, is growing our Thought Leadership Practice.  We’re seeking TWO experienced media relations strategists who want to make a difference in the health care industry and contribute to our thriving company culture.

Positions

  • Account Supervisor: Thought Leadership & Media Strategy (7+ years relevant experience)
  • Senior Account Supervisor: Thought Leadership & Media Strategy (10+ years relevant experience and management experience)

Responsibilities:

Writing, Editing and Thought Leadership

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to place subject matter experts and thought leaders in relevant media outlets
  • Develops speaker abstracts or proposals for industry conferences; researches and develops presentation content
  • Develops complex message platforms, commentary, media statements and industry content requiring only minimal editing
  • Constructs or participates significantly in development of communication plans and strategies
  • Possesses excellent editing skills for content, strategy, voice and style; provides constructive editing and strategic feedback to junior account team members

Professionalism and Account Management

  • Is a proactive manager; comfortably leads client calls/meetings; manages account teams, budgets and client reporting
  • Embraces accountability and supports account key performance indicator (KPI) measurement efforts
  • Applies current and emerging business trends to support client needs and generate innovative, appropriate strategies; generates creative ideas

Teamwork and Initiative

  • Leads client and company initiatives
  • Supports agency marketing, business development and new client onboarding efforts
  • Develops and edits case studies and award entries/nominations; compiles data to support results
  • Participates and seeks leadership opportunities in at least one industry organization; pursues continued professional development opportunities; shares knowledge from industry and professional development activities with colleagues
  • Identifies individual and group learning opportunities; provides instructive feedback and helps manage/develop more junior colleagues
  • Meets individual performance goals
  • Focuses on higher value projects and strategy development while managing accounts and teams to ensure quality work is performed at all levels and delivered on time and on budget

Successful candidates will have:

  • Proven experience (and relevant work samples) in proactive media relations strategy development and execution
  • Working relationships with health care industry reporters and editors
  • Exceptional writing skills (and relevant work samples)
  • Proven experience in team management and development
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience (preferably in either the provider, corporate or agency environment)
  • Strong references to attest to an excellent track record of strategy development, execution and project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or related field
