Sliding Down Rainbows is a warm, gentle story about a girl struggling to understand her sister’s death. My daughter Lily and I wrote this book after we lost Grace, Lily’s triplet sister, to cancer. The story helps children recognize that fear, sadness, and grief are common responses to death for children, and for adults too. Sliding Down Rainbows offers a concrete way for children to view death as a positive, natural part of the cycle of life by demonstrating the similarities between birth and death, and highlighting the hope that comes with new beginnings. A portion of the proceeds from the book will support educational scholarships for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
