Sliding Down Rainbows is a warm, gentle story about a girl who is struggling to understand the death of her sister. My daughter Lily and I co-authored this book. The story helps children recognize that fear, sadness, and grief are common responses to death for children, and for adults too. Sliding Down Rainbows offers a concrete way for children to view death as a positive, natural part of the cycle of life by demonstrating the similarities between birth and death, and highlighting the hope that comes with new beginnings. A portion of the proceeds from the book will support educational scholarships for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
