MATH 120 student Sydney Pearson was this year’s winner of the annual Harrison Randolph Calculus Contest.  She receives not only the prestige of having won but also a cash prize of $100!

The math department’s Sofia Agrest will be SSM’s inaugural Assistant Dean for Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity starting July 1.  Sofia has been involved in the SC Alliance for Minority Participation for over 20 years and in several other diversity-enhancement programs and initiatives.
