The Opportunity: A paid, on-campus internship that will support the URCA director in marketing, communication, grant application administration, event planning, and more.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Program Assistant for the Addiction Sciences Division. The candidate will assist the study team in the recruitment of research participants, the collection of psychological research data, data entry and organizational tasks for studies being conducted in the Addiction Sciences Division. The candidate will work on research studies which focus on the study of and development of interventions for veterans and addiction. The candidate will be directly involved in the collection of questionnaire, interview, laboratory and other research data.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $28,216.00 – $40,210.00 – $52,204.00 (min – mid – max)

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Program Assistant for the Addiction Sciences Division. The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in supporting an NIH funded educational trailing program: Enhancing Diversity in Alcohol Research (EDAR). The individual will be responsible for supporting EDAR trainees, including doctoral psychology trainees in alcohol research. This individual will be responsible for program administrative support, including trainee support, scheduling, and program related data tracking. This position will also include some research related duties, including the collection of psychological research data, data entry and other organizational tasks.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $29,061.00 – $41,415.00 – $53,769.00 (min – mid – max)

The Office of Institutional Diversity is Currently Accepting Applications for Two On-Campus Positions.

The Office of Institutional Diversity is looking to hire a Peer Coach & Student Assistant for the office’s Launchpad for Success Program.

Launchpad was created by the OID to address equity gaps in mentoring, career development, and experiential learning among freshmen and sophomores (especially African American, Latino/a, Asian, and Native American) at the College of Charleston. After a two-year building process, the program is welcoming its first cohort of students (led by peer coaches) this fall.

Both positions pay $10 per hour and applications are due this Friday (09/23).

U.S. Department of State: CLS SPARK

The U.S Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Spark Program is a pilot initiative providing virtual opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world.

CLS Spark provides American students the access and opportunity to start their language learning journeys, even when these critical languages may not be offered on their campuses. Selected participants will spend an academic year learning either Arabic, Chinese, or Russian through online classes and activities facilitated by native speakers at a host institution abroad.
