2023 Student Entrepreneur of the Year

The Center for Entrepreneurship is looking for applications for the College of Charleston “2023 Student Entrepreneur of the Year.” The winner will be recognized on April 12th at the Tommy Baker Entrepreneurship Hour and receive an award of $1,000 to help grow their business.

Any full-time enrolled student at the College of Charleston is invited to apply by the Sunday, February 12, 2023 deadline.

Additionally, Student entrepreneurs are also eligible to join the Founders Club to help students launch and grow their enterprises by bringing in noted entrepreneurs for mentoring and advice. The Founders Club’s next meeting is this Wednesday, February 1 from 5:00-6:00 in Beatty 120 (the Impact X room on the ground floor of the School of Business).

Present Your Work at the CofC Expo in April

CofC Expo 2023 is back! Showcase student research, creative activities, and community service projects from across campus.

This is a perfect opportunity for students to share their highly impressive undertakings with the local community and gain public presentation experience that will be valuable for future endeavors.

CofC Expo 2022 is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in TD Arena (301 Meeting Street). This event is free and open to the public.

Want to participate? Submit an abstract to be considered. The deadline to submit an abstract is Wednesday, February 15.

Become a Charleston 40 Tour Guide Today!

Charleston 40 is recruiting new Tour Guides!

Charleston 40, College of Charleston’s Tour Guide Association, is currently looking for new members. The purpose of Charleston 40 is to provide tours, represent the campus to any interested person(s), and facilitate the needs of the Office of Admissions. Charleston 40 holds bi-weekly meetings, and new guides are required to give 1 tour per week.

Become a Peer Advisor with the Academic Advising and Planning Center

The Academic Advising and Planning Center is looking for three Peer Advisors for the 2023 – 2024 academic year. Peer advisors may either start this summer or next fall.

This is a great leadership opportunity for any student; no experience required, Peer Advisors will be trained by the Academic Advising and Planning Center.

The deadline to apply for this position is February 3th at 11:59pm. Students interested will need to provide two letters of recommendation; one from a professor and one from a former employer. Letters of recommendation may be submitted here.

Apply for an Alternative Spring Break Trip with the Center for Civic Engagement

Are you looking for a different kind of Spring Break? consider Alternative Break (AB) at CofC.

The Opportunity: A spring break trip where you can travel, meet new people, learn more about social justice and immerse yourself in issues that are important to you.

  • Go Deeper: Spring ’23 trips include a Historical Censorship trip to Washington D.C. and a Queer Resistance trip to New York City.

The College’s SPECTRA program is seeking outstanding students to serve as SPECTRA LEADers for the Summer II (July 8 – August 4, 2023) session.

The opportunity: LEADers are responsible for general supervision of an assigned group of SPECTRA students, serving as a role model, facilitating and planning bonding activities, enforcing policies, providing feedback, and more.

Great fit for: Students who are committed to leadership through service to others and are passionate about assisting freshman (AALANA) African American, Latino, Asian, Native American, or Pacific Islander students make a smooth transition from high school to college are asked to apply.

Become a Peer Career Advisor

The Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) serve as the first point of contact for the Career Center.

PCA’s primary duty is to meet one-on-one with undergraduate students during Drop-In Hours to review resumes and cover letters, offering advice and assistance within Career Center guidelines. Occasionally, PCAs may also assist graduate students and alumni up to 3 years after graduation.

This is a great opportunity to develop your own personal and professional skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and more, while supporting your peers in their own career readiness.
