AI, Writing, and Human Nature: A Discussion with Honors College Students and Faculty

Is the ability to write and think creatively part of human nature? Join a group of Honors students and faculty for an intimate and lively discussion on the topic (with free pizza provided!).

The Discussion: Many have maintained that humans are distinct in our ability to think, use language, and to be creative. Recent development in artificial intelligence seem to undermine these claims. Is the ability to write and think creatively part of human nature? Is that threatened by developments in AI technology?

  • Our group discussion will focus on a public lecture by Annette Vee taking place directly before we meet and will be led by professors of philosophy Todd Grantham and Christian Coseru. Students are encouraged (though not required) to attend the Annette Vee lecture beforehand.
