  • Registration for all remaining Honors College students on the comprehensive four-year track will open on Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 a.m.

The HONS class I want is currently showing as full. Can I get on a waitlist?

To get on a waitlist for HONS courses, please fill out this form:

HONORS COLLEGE REGISTRATION WAITLIST FORM – SPRING 2025

The waitlist does not guarantee you a spot, but it will give you a time-stamped place in line. You may only choose one waitlist class per curricular category (Foundations, Colloquium, Advanced).  As always, you should have alternative course options in case a section you want is full. If a seat becomes available, you will receive an email from Professor Ganaway or Professor Landis.

The form is meant to provide a more efficient and equitable means of tracking waitlist requests. To keep everything organized, the Honors Advising Team won’t respond to email requests for a waitlist spot. The only way to get on a waitlist is to complete the form.

Where do I go to if I encounter a pre-requisite error of a full class outside of the HONS prefix?

You must contact the home department directly if you need an override into a class that does not have the HONS — course designation. We have no ability to grant those overrides. We can help you only when these issues arise in HONS classes.

Why hasn’t my hold been lifted?

You must complete your advising process through your honors advisor/mentor to get your hold lifted. Please keep in mind that many academic departments place holds. If you have not finished your honors or major advising process, you’ll have to complete it first (which will take a couple of days, in all likelihood). The main thing is not to panic. No one can register for honors classes but honors students.  As long as we can get you signed up by the end of the week, things should be fine.

I am encountering technical difficulties accessing MyPortal or getting a “pipes” error.  How can I resolve this?

Honors staff cannot resolve network-related issues. You will need to go directly to the Helpdesk at helpdesk@cofc.edu or 843-953-3375.
