The Center for Civic Engagement is Hosting Service Opportunities for Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Month!

November is Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Month, and to participate, CofC’s Center for Civic Engagement is hosting four service opportunities next week!

Make Fleece Scarves: Join them for a minute, five minutes, or as long as you’d like to help make easy, no-sew fleece scarves for the unhoused in our community. This pop-up service event will be on Monday, November 13th, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Cougar Mall.

Assemble Food Kits: Stop by to help put emergency food kits together for those dealing with food insecurity in our community on Wednesday, November 11th, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Cougar Mall.

Habitat for Humanity Build Day: Help build hope and a home for a Charleston family. Tools, food and transportation provided for this nearby Charleston Habitat for Humanity build day. This event will be on Saturday, November 18th, from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Register here by Thursday, November 16th.

Clean Windwood Farm: Get your hands dirty and dig in to help spruce up Windwood Farm, a residential site that provides hope and healing to boys affected by neglect, abuse or other trauma, on Saturday, November 18th, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Food and transportation included. Register here by Wednesday, November 15th.
