The Theodore B. Guérard Lecture Series, Classical Charleston, explores environmental change and human resiliency.

The Events:

• Multiple lectures on Thursday, February 23 (4:00-6:30 p.m.) and Friday, February 24 (4:00-6:30 p.m.) in the Jeremy Warren Vann Teacher Ed Center (86 Wentworth St.)
• A two-day workshop, also Feb. 23 and 24 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each day, focused on developing ideas, methods, and logistics for an international, multi-year, multidisciplinary project in the Epidauria, Greece.

The Discussion: One of the biggest questions facing the world today is how to sustainably balance the needs of society while also adjusting to a changing environment. We have much to learn from a long-term historical perspective on the symbiotic relationship between human society and the environment.
