Banned Books Week events come to campus

Celebrate the unifying power of the written word with several campus events during Banned Books week.

The events:

  • Banned Books readout (Tuesday, September 20, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) – members of the campus community are invited to read passages from their favorite banned or challenged book.
  • Books Unite Us: Panel Discussion (Wednesday, September 21, 6:00 p.m.) – A critical conversation about the connections between book banning and issues of academic freedom and censorship in the curriculum.

Learn more: Learn more about frequently challenged books, and check out the panelists who’ll be in conversation during the Books Unite Us discussion.

How to participate: Sign up to read during the readout on Tuesday, and register to attend the free panel discussion.
