Marion Square Farmers Market

Every Saturday morning, Marion Square comes to life as both locals and tourists gather to buy fresh produce or local art, eat breakfast or brunch, listen to live entertainment, or simply walk around and enjoy the ambiance. Located between King and Meeting Streets at the edge of Calhoun Street, Marion Square has long been the center of festive activities and is an ideal location for Charleston’s Farmers Market.

From now until the beginning of December, the Farmer’s Market houses over 20 farmers and growers and over 35 food vendors. Farmers sell locally grown fruits and vegetables, while vendors sell anything from crepes to jams to vegan chocolate. The Famers Market also offers an excellent assortment of juried arts and crafts, providing the best selection and most talented local artisans. Lindsay Graham, an MES student and Graduate Assistant at the Grad School Office, has been juried in and sells her photography at the Farmers Market on the first and third Saturdays of every month. Her business, Flyway Photography, showcases birds that are local to the Lowcountry.

The Farmers Market is up and running from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., so whether you’re an early bird or like to sleep in a little, there is plenty of time to enjoy all the vendors. Just remember that it’s hot, so bring water and sunscreen!
