Love Beauty and Planet is a company known for their hair and skin care products that is a little bit different than most of the hair and skin care companies you may know of. “Love Beauty & Planet was started by group of like minded people who believe that looking good and doing good should go hand-in-hand” (Love Beauty and Planet, 2018). This company has 6 overarching goals that are exactly what every company should be thinking about. 1. Sourcing ingredients responsibly – almost all of their formulas have ingredients from only certified sustainable sources and the ones that aren’t are on their way. 2. Reducing waste- their bottles are from 100% recycled materials! Their caps are still a work in progress but the goal is by 2020 to have the caps at least 50% recycles materials. 3. Saving water- they save water by making their products fast rinsing. 
No need for longer showers to wash out that conditioner when you are using Love Beauty & Planet. 4. Reducing carbon footprint- they believe it is their duty to be honest about their carbon footprint and their goal is below 20% by 2020. 5. Supporting Environmentalists – Love Beauty & Planet fully supports all efforts of environmental change and especially believes in the power of small actions. 6. New Products – they believe that they can create new products and keep working towards and even more sustainable future! These 6 goals are what companies should strive for, Love Beauty & Planet is currently doing amazing things and will continue to improve in the future. “We believe footprints belong in the sand, not the planet, so our goal is to have a carbon footprint so small, it’s like we weren’t even here” (Love Beauty and Planet, 2018). Its companies like Love Beauty & Planet that are going to drive change. They not only are doing things but they are continuously trying to do even more to protect the environment and become completely sustainable. I highly suggest checking out what they have to offer, not only are you supporting a sustainable business but you will smell delicious too!
I recently received a couple of samples in my Birchbox from this company and before trying the product out I thought that the advertising may be too good to be true. However, I found that this product is not only incredibly useful for saving water (short showers) but also smells incredible and leaves my hair feeling nourished and healthy. A lot of products like this seem to have really drying agents which make the product easier to rinse out but do not give the full effect of a good shampoo/conditioner. I think it is super cool that they are promoting environmentalist’s work and trying to create change within the industry. I hope that they are able to meet their goals and perhaps move on to create a completely sustainable, zero waste product some day. Thanks so much for sharing!
I loved your post! Like you said, I think the most important thing that this company is doing is continuously striving for improvement. It is amazing to do good, but even better to try for great. I have been trying to pay close attention to the intentions of the companies of which I continuously support – like those I repurchase shampoo, soap, detergent, food, etc. products from. This is a great suggestion for beauty products that I have never heard of, so I will be sure to check them out. Thank you!
