With Who: Men’s Basketball Team, The Citadel
Location: Charleston, SC
Dates: Winter 2020 – Spring 2021 (mid-November through early March)
Hours: Approximately 10-14 hours per week (attendance at each home game is expected)
Position Description: We are looking for candidates to be a part of our broadcast team for the 2020-2021 basketball season. All of our games are available nationally on ESPN+ and we are seeking a consistent on-air talent. Specifically, we are searching for someone to provide the color commentary for 15 home games this upcoming season. Our first game is scheduled for Nov 25th. Games will typically require 3 hours in-person time, but an additional 2-3 hours of personal prep work is likely needed to know the information required for a successful broadcast.
Responsibilities:
- Provide color commentary at all home Citadel basketball games
- It is expected that the applicant make it to all home games (including those over school breaks)
Preferred Qualifications:
- A background / passion for the game of basketball – experience playing the game is preferred
- Sports broadcasting experience preferred
- Professional approach to the position (on time, prepared & knowledgeable about Citadel Basketball and opponents, enthusiastic for each game)
