Internship Description:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a nonprofit organization that educates the public on the necessary conditions for business and communities to thrive, how business positively impacts communities, and helps businesses prepare for the future.
We are seeking research interns for the spring semester (exact dates are flexible).
The students we select to fill this position will report to the Director of Emerging Issues at the Foundation. During the internship, students will learn about complex issues and new technologies while honing their writing, research and communication skills in a friendly workplace that values hard work and intellectual curiosity.
Our research internship is a paid position of up to 40 hours a week at the Foundation’s office near the White House. Interns receive a competitive salary, unless the intern elects to receive academic credit in lieu of monetary compensation. To be eligible for an internship, the Foundation requires that you are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing research support to the Emerging Issues team by assembling background information for assigned research projects as well as aiding in writing, formatting and editing of assigned research projects, presentations and products;
- Write blog posts for the website focusing on emerging issues and technologies affecting the business community;
- Assisting Foundation staff with event preparation and operations including pre-event research and other event-related tasks as assigned;
- Providing administrative support for Foundation by assisting with department-wide events and answering the main phone line;
- Managing special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: Excellent research and writing skills as well as organization and communication skills; proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); strong proofreading, presentation and editing skills.

Second, it should reflect a commitment to hard work, with an emphasis on challenging courses and paid positions, regardless of role or sector. Finally, we think writing is fundamental.
