Position Summary: Pet Helpers, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves communities across Lowcountry. Our mission is to end the euthanasia of all adoptable cats and dogs by keeping all animals until adopted, providing low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, offering humane education programs, pursuing animal-cruelty prosecution, and initiating animal-welfare legislation.
Pet Helpers Adoption Center & Spay/Neuter Clinic is seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented individual with experience in office administration, data entry, and some marketing experience. The Development Intern provides support for the Development and Administrative departments at Pet Helpers. This position will provide support for donor communications, database management, general clerical duties, with opportunities in marketing and special events.
The position will be responsible for processing weekly donor acknowledgements, mailings, Bloomerang (CRM Database) management, and general filing and/or other administrative work as necessary. The position will also provide some support to marketing including video production, community outreach for special events such as distributing flyers, cross-posting on social media, and attending in-person* events as a representative of Pet Helpers.

Requirements:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to professionally advocate for Pet Helpers
- Ability to work in a team environment

- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work in an emotionally taxing field – a positive attitude and sense of humor are essential at all times
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Commitment to the humane treatment of animals
*Interns will be expected to follow appropriate social distancing and mask-wearing procedures at all times when acting as a representative of Pet Helpers.
