Position Description: The Office of Public Affairs & Media Relations Internship Program is actively recruiting talented writers and communicators to join our team for fall and spring semesters and the summer months. Interns work directly with a news editor and team to prepare professional quality stories for print and digital publishing. Participants can build a portfolio of published work, make great contacts and also receive academic credit. Seeking qualified college-level junior or senior student to write, organize notes from interviews and conduct story research to support MUSC’s internal and external mission and the Office of Public Affairs & Media Relations. Duties include conducting interviews for news and feature stories, story research, organizing and writing stories for the campus’ bi-monthly publication, The MUSC Catalyst News (print and digital versions). Possess an interest in science, medical news, writing and editing, some photography, knowledge and skills posting to social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), participates in ongoing communications projects, provides administrative support and assistance on special projects.
