With Who: Launch Pad
Dates: September 2019 – February 2020 (15-20 hours a week)
Position Description: Launch Pad is looking for an energetic and creative Communications major to help with creating blog and social media content to highlight our members across the US, build media lists, assist with pitching stories and interviews to members of the press, and help with building out and maintaining a dynamic editorial calendar.
Launch Pad is a national network of coworking spaces dedicated to offering the space, resources, programming, and funding to help entrepreneurs—specifically entrepreneurs located in Opportunity Zones across the US. We expanded to 6 locations this year and are opening 20 more by 2020.
Skills Required:
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and strategically based on company goals and deadlines
- Proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), Mailchimp and Canva needed and proficiency in the scheduling platform Sprout Social is preferred
- Strong research and interviewing skills needed
- Personal computer and phone needed
- Availability needed for weekly call and in-person meeting twice a month
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Helping to build out 6-month editorial calendar
- Interview and write stories about our members and entrepreneurs for our blog and social media
- Write captions and content for Facebook and Instagram ads
- Build and maintain media lists for all locations and future locations
- Pitch Launch Pad’s growth and updates to members of the press
- Assist in writing of press releases
- Analyze and report out on social media posting and engagement
- Create timely newsletter content that builds off of company core values
- Work closely with Director of Communications and Community Managers at each of our current 6 locations to ensure we highlight all locations and members
