Social Venture Partners Charleston is a team of dedicated philanthropists who collectively invest their expertise and financial resources into area nonprofit organizations. Along with “on-the-ground” work with nonprofits, the Partnership also hosts various events throughout the year to engage with the community-at-large and build the knowledge base of the Partnership. Social Venture Partners is looking for an intern for Summer 2015.
The attached job description (SVP_Internship_ Summer 2015) provides more information, but the main criteria are a willingness to learn, an ability to work independently and take initiative, and superior writing skills. The internship provides a great introduction to the nonprofit and philanthropy fields, as the intern will spend time with nonprofit grant recipients and the rest of the staff at Coastal Community Foundation. Additionally, the intern will be able to meet and network with the members of the Partnership, all of whom achieved great success in their professions: law, management consulting, marketing, and more.
As outlined in the job description, the position would run through the summer with a possibility to continue through the following academic year. The time commitment is 10-15 hours a week, with compensation. Social Venture Partners accepts interns of any age, as long as they meet the qualifications for the position. The deadline to apply for the internship is March 15.
