Position Description: Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School seeks a highly motivated, outgoing, and Mercy-filled individual to serve as the Director of Alumnae Engagement. Founded in 1861, Gwynedd is an independent, all-girls Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The School’s mission is to educate, inspire, and empower young women to be merciful in spirit, innovative in thought, and courageous in leadership. This full-time position within the School’s Office of Advancement ensures lifelong engagement opportunities for alumnae to enhance loyalty and support for the School. The position reports to the Director of Advancement.
The Director of Alumnae Engagement is a relationship builder and program manager responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive and sustainable alumnae program that promotes lifelong engagement and support of the School’s mission and goals. Collaborating with the School Administration, Faculty, Staff, Advancement team, and Alumnae Association Board, the Director is responsible for implementing meaningful programs, events, and communications that develop, support, and strengthen relationships among and between present and future alumnae and the School. The Director also shares responsibility for growing a robust donor pipeline to increase present and future alumnae annual giving participation and support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and execute a strategic plan and calendar of programs and events for present and future alumnae that supports the mission and goals of Gwynedd and encourages lifelong and meaningful engagement, with major focus to be placed on reunion activities, Gwynedd Force—GMA’s online community for career and professional networking, and service opportunities.
- Support the Alumnae Association Board in all efforts, including strategic planning, meeting preparation, volunteer recruitment and management, and event and program support.
- Manage a small portfolio of annual giving leadership prospects to engage, cultivate, and solicit on an annual basis, and participate in monthly moves management meetings.
- Jointly manage, with the Director of Annual Giving, a class and reunion based giving program that solicits gifts annually through volunteers and staff.
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications on communications to alumnae on a regular basis, manage the alumnae website and social media accounts, and co-produce the March issue of Mercy Magazine.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Advancement Services to ensure accurate and complete alumnae records and to record, pull, and report data to analyze engagement utilizing the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Serve as the liaison with various School departments, clubs, and teams to provide volunteer and engagement opportunities for alumnae.
- Collaborate with all members of the Advancement team and assist when and where needed to ensure the success of the overall advancement program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, and three to five years of successful alumnae relations experience preferred
- Proficient use of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite, and communications/marketing/public relations experience
- Ability to work nights and weekends and to travel locally and occasionally out-of-state
