Position Description: The ideal Account Manager candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Our broad client base includes brand leaders in the outdoor, active lifestyle, action sports and natural products categories. Candidates for this position should possess strong media relations, client management and reporting skills. At least 2-4 years of relevant agency experience is required. Job is based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Duties:
- Develop and execute communication strategies and conduct media and influencer outreach to a range of consumer and trade media in targeted marketplace
- Act as point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day correspondence and timely replies
- Copywriting – pitches, bios, and brand stories
- Event coordination and promotion
- Develop innovative branding strategy for all clients, including securing event partnership, social media activations and facilitating collaborative projects & brand partnerships
- Liaise with writers, editors and freelancers to pitch and coordinate feature stories for clients
An Ideal Candidate:
- Has at least 2-3 years agency experience
- Has previously established relationships with a variety of media outlets (outdoor & lifestyle outlets preferred) and possesses strong press and influencer contacts with the ability to actively create and maintain industry contacts
- Is actively engaged with online influencers and stays up to date on trend stories in outdoor, active lifestyle and food categories
- Has exceptional interpersonal, networking, verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast paced environment and manage all deadlines
