Compensation: $10/hour for 8-12 weeks
Position Description: (This is a paid internship.) The Marketing Intern will be mentored and supervised by the Design, Marketing & Office Manager.
Duties and Tasks: The intern will assist the business with the following tasks:

Create, develop, plan, organize and execute marketing materials and campaigns through various platforms including website development, social media outlets as well as graphic & print design. These campaigns will correlate with the existing identity & reputation of the business & brand.

Collect marketing research & analytics to determine the best practical applications of campaign materials and funds as well as the best approach in collecting client testimonials.

Assist the accounting department with various tasks in accounting software, Quickbooks & scheduling software, BuilderTrend. This will include reconciling, report reading, job set-up & organization.

Assist in day-to-day office tasks such as preparing for meetings, attending meetings, business finance, administration & client relations.

Assist/shadow owner with tasks relating to property development, property management & project management. This may include working with city officials, utility companies, suppliers and site-visits.
Qualifications: Applicants should be in their junior or senior year of college pursuing a marketing degree. Graphic design experience is not required but is a plus. Intern should show interest in architecture & design. Intern should be organized and willing to learn the many facets of a small business. Applicants should be familiar with the following social media platforms; Houzz, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Learning Objectives:

The intern will gain hands on experience with all aspects of managerial marketing in relation to course MKTG 315.

The intern will gain hands on experience with all aspects of brand management & will be able to build their marketing portfolio in relation to courses MKTG 348, CITA 140 & CSCI 115.

The intern will gain hands on experience & hone research techniques necessary for all aspects of small business market research in relation to courses MKTG 320, MKTG 329 & MKTG 355.

The intern will gain hands on experience with small business finance, accounting & budgeting in relation to courses ACCT 203, ACCT 204 & MGMT 405.

The intern will gain valuable knowledge in small business management & entrepreneurial business skills in relation to courses ENTR 335, MGMT 405, DSCI 304 & ENTR 420.

The intern will have the opportunity to network with other professionals in the field and the Charleston business community.
