Internship Description:
The marketing department at Christophe Harbour serves a number of internal clients from real estate to marina, food & beverage to club operations and performs an array of marketing and communications activities, from public relations to branding, communications to event planning, and beyond. We are looking for a communications intern to help us plan, research, write, and edit meaningful communications for a global audience of high net worth clients, guests, and business partners.
We’re a small, family-owned company who work hard but have a lot of fun along the way. Ours is a fast-paced working environment where no day is the same and even the best-laid plans get upended. Most of our work is done remotely over phone, web and email, and we liaise closely with on-island colleagues and a number of outside vendors.
Day-to-day work will include researching and writing of ongoing communications, planning editorial calendars, and assisting with digital, social media, advertising, and public relations efforts.
We’re looking for a dedicated, bright student with a solid work ethic who will bring new energy to our team and become part of our “family.” This internship is unpaid, but you’ll gain lots of invaluable experience. Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the student, but a minimum of 5 hours per week is desired. Academic credit may be available, if desired.
In turn, we promise you hands-on experience in resort and marina marketing and public relations, networking and professional training, and the opportunity to develop a solid portfolio of work.
Our office is located in downtown Charleston, and office hours would be required. Parking may be available, if necessary, but not guaranteed.
List of responsibilities:
Creating editorial calendars for all communication mediums.
Writing articles for monthly and quarterly newsletters and social media outlets.
Writing blog content about current real estate listings and promoting real estate listings through social media and other sources
Assisting, as necessary, with digital and online marketing needs
Assisting with posting listing pictures to online sites
Assisting PR team with writing of news releases.
Supporting brand development.
Interacting with other agencies and companies, as needed.
Performing general administrative duties, as needed, including:
• Organization and management of digital assets
• Responding to image requests from business partners, media, etc.
• Shipping, inventory, and reporting
Who we’re looking for:
A solid writer with passion for writing
Demonstrated understanding of the mechanics of grammar and editing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
A self-starter who works well with others and can prioritize time and tasks
Some working knowledge of real estate and / or marinas would be a plus
Writing samples should be submitted with resume.
