Allegion: Seeks Global Corporate Communications Summer Intern

Position Description:  This is a paid internship. As a Global Corporate Communications intern, you will rotate through the full Corporate Communications department, supporting work for a variety of global audiences over the course of the summer. Allegion’s Corporate Communications team is responsible for promoting and protecting the Allegion brand around the globe. Through brand management, content marketing, digital marketing, media relations, government relations and employee communications, the corporate communications team works cross-functionally with nearly every department in the company. What You Will Do:  

  • Build target lists of media and government influencers
  • Coordinate events
  • Draft news releases, talking points, and pitches for media and executive public appearances
  • Update Allegion brand guidelines
  • Investigate, interview, and write articles for intranet and internal/employee publications
  • Write and monitor social media content
  • Write and develop promotional copy/content, including for video
  • Edit content using Associated Press style guidelines and Allegion brand guidelines
  • Populate new intranet platform with existing content
  • Write and implement stakeholder surveys regarding engagement and user experience of company intranet
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion

What You Need to Succeed:  

  • Pursuing a BS degree with an educational focus in marketing, communications, telecommunications, journalism, digital marketing or a related field
  • Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.
  • Strong business writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in content development for public relations, social media and digital marketing
  • Graphic design basics (Adobe Creative Suite, i.e., InDesign and Photoshop or a similar platform)
  • Fluency in AP style guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of integrated marketing communications
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and some work experience
