Position Description: a|dash is seeking a Marketing and Social Media Intern to help generate buzz, increase online traffic and foster strong social media engagement. You will be interested in developing a campaign to help quickly grow our company’s online presence ultimately improving the marketing efforts of our company brand as well as our different platforms. Previous experience with social media required and experience with digital marketing strategy and execution strongly preferred.
This is an unpaid internship, eligible for college credit only. Work schedule is flexible upon agreement, with an estimation of 12-15 hours per week.
About Us: a|dash is an authentic upcoming wellness beverage company based in Nashville, TN and Charleston, SC. a|dash was founded by Megan Broderick and Kelly Broderick Lamie. The sisters played soccer for and graduated from College of Charleston and Wofford respectively. Megan graduated from the College of Charleston in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Minor in Spanish. She has spent the last decade living between Charleston for part of the year and abroad, but has settled back in Charleston permanently as a Co-Founder and Director of Operations to help grow a|dash here. Kelly resides in Nashville where she manages the state of Tennessee for a global wine brand in additional to being the Founder and CEO of a|dash.
a|dash is intentionally designed to be different. From our foundation to our product to our focus on females, we aim to disrupt the health, wellness and beverage industries through our lower caffeine, organic cold brew coffee infused with a daily dash of adaptogens. We help consumers simplify their wellness routine by elevating their daily coffee consumption. Our cold brew coffee is designed to provide clean, balanced, sustained, function energy all in a convenient and recyclable can.
Social Media + Marketing Responsibilities:
- Work with team to build and grow online profiles; keep information current, accurate and on brand
- Develop, coordinate and foster community engagement (both online and in-person) to generate increased brand awareness
- Create content (photos, videos, graphic graphic design, memes, etc..) for all social media channels
- Assist in the implementation of social media marketing plan
- Strategically grow social media accounts like TikTok Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn by liaising with Social Media Manager
- Monitor and report on activity using Google analytics and other social media analytics tools
- Utilize tools such as Planoly to manage accounts and content
- Create lists to identify the target audience of our campaigns
- Attend pop-ups, meetings and other events to build awareness and establish business connections
- Participate in, create and execute strategy to grow our college campus brand ambassador affiliate program
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Desire to use social media and understanding of web technologies and web communication tools
- Current TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn user on a daily basis
- Experience using Slack and Canva
- Strong organizational skills & high level of attention to detail
- Desire to become Subject Matter Expert
- Able to create written plans and written reports in Excel, Word, Google Docs, Canva
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form
- Willingness to prioritize projects and activities in conjunction with school and other activities
- Ability to work independently with high self-initiative
- Interest in or studying business or entrepreneurship
- Can perform work on own personal laptop/tablet and phone
Working Hours:
- 12-15 hours per week, flexible on hours of work
- Must attend weekly team meeting in-person on Monday morning
- Remote work outside of team meeting day with phone calls/Zoom touchpoints
Learning Objectives:
- Creative integration of marketing communication, and brand communication to increase organization effectiveness
- Qualitative & quantitative methods employed in communication research, including experiments, surveys & textual analysis
- Craft message for particular contexts and publics through social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok & LinkedIn
- Develop advanced writing skills and proficient in information gathering, message design, and visual communication
- Develop advanced content creation and graphic design skills to continue to elevate the brands online presence
- Identify, analyze, and propose solutions to communications problems
- Working with web-based & mobile technologies and associated trends
- Using social media to discover & interact with connected publics by curating, creating & sharing content, monitoring & measuring engagement, and analyzing & applying insights to integrated communication strategies
- Develop the knowledge & technical skills to conceptualize, design, produce, and manage various social/digital media channels that are commonly used in marketing programs & campaigns
- Understanding the characteristics of social media zones, developing social media marketing strategies, and track their effectiveness
