USRowing Communications/Marketing Department Internships (Princeton, NJ)

Position: Communications/Marketing – Summer Intern
Internship Dates: May-August 2019. Intern must be available until the end of the USRowing Masters National Championships on August 19, 2019.
USRowing is offering two internship positions in the Communications/Marketing Department during the summer of 2019.
Summary: USRowing, the national governing body for rowing in the United States, seeks a summer intern to assist in the production, editing and publishing of content for USRowing.org and its various platforms.
Job Functions:
- Write press releases, feature stories and athlete bios
- Assist with media operations at local and national regattas and fundraising events
- Assist with generating marketing materials for use across departments
- Create promotional marketing materials for potential sponsors and revenue streams
- Help maintain athlete and media databases
- Provide support for daily media clips and other administrative duties
- Assist with media requests, including scheduling and on-site facilitation
- Produce graphic and video content for USRowing.org and various platforms
- Assist with post-production footage including marketing and distributing finished product
- Develop, produce and edit original content for all departments
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated proofreading ability and use of AP style
- Ability to work creatively in fast-paced environments
- Ability to meet deadlines with little or no supervision
- High level of enthusiasm and a strong work ethic
- Proficient with Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Proficient with Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Premiere or equivalent
- Experience in journalism, sports information, video production or a related field
A rowing background is preferred, but not required. A stipend is offered for this position. Course credit is also available. Applicants must secure housing and transportation to USRowing headquarters in Princeton, N.J., and have access to a car over the summer. Applicant must be available to work evenings and on the weekends occasionally.
