Communications Internship with We Are Sharing Hope SC (Charleston)
We Are Sharing Hope SC (SHSC), South Carolina’s organ and tissue donor program, is looking for an energetic, compassionate intern who will help lay the foundation for the mission of organ donation throughout South Carolina. Organ donation is a very personal decision and the Communications department at We Are Sharing Hope is responsible for educating 4.7 million people in South Carolina on the importance one “yes” can make to the 114,000 people on the national transplant waiting list. SHSC is looking for a Communications Intern who will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist in copy editing and managing monthly newsletters to a variety of audiences including Volunteers and Board Members
- Designing flyers, graphics and campaign materials for educational collateral
- Update the We Are Sharing Hope SC website
- Assist Communications Department in managing social media channels to keep a consistent and compassionate tone
- Assist with educational opportunities in the community to help dispel myths about organ donation
- Assist with analyzing data trends and campaign strategy
Experience:
- Familiar with graphic design, ideally Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of Social Media trends and strategies
- Strong writing and copy editing
The internship would be 10-15 hours a week and would report to the Director of Communications. This position will be filled in Spring with potential to continue through Summer. This is a non-paid internship.
