Creative Intern Position Description
King & Columbus is seeking enthusiastic and creative interns to join our team, with an opportunity to extend the role if you are a good fit. Our creative intern will gain invaluable experience developing inbound marketing collateral (print & digital), social media graphics, banner ads, print ads, website graphics & Search Engine Optimized copy. This is a great opportunity for interns to bring forward ideas and creative concepts. This is a paid internship.
Duration of the internship and schedule is flexible. Successful candidates will receive highly complementary referrals and recommendation letters upon satisfactory completion of projects.
Responsibilities
This position involves assisting the creative, web & marketing team with day-to-day management of graphic design projects, web design projects, and inbound marketing tasks- all while learning / understanding how each project works into a client’s big-picture marketing plan. Will be tasked with creating artwork / content for banner advertising, social media advertising, landing pages, websites & more.
Learning Objectives
Our Creative Intern will gain invaluable experience including the following:
● Contributing to graphic design consultation by providing potential options to clients.
● Demonstrating a working knowledge of composition and layout, color, typeface selection, and other fundamentals of design.
● Coordinating asset storage, cleanup, and file preparation.
● Managing projects from concept to completion with leader.
● Build your portfolio of work

● Learn how to apply knowledge and skills of graphic design in a real-world setting
● Learn how to support marketing through graphic design work in performing tasks associated with marketing and promotions while maintaining brand standards

Requirements
Applicants must have completed at minimum their junior year of undergraduate study. Candidates must possess excellent technology design, proofreading and organizational and communication skills. An eagerness to learn and proactive work style is expected.
● Be proficient in Adobe, Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro) and Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint) and/or other common design and layout applications and have knowledge of Mac environments.
● Shape the client experience with your expertise in logo design, web design, layout, presentation design, color, illustration, and typography.
● Use your knowledge of file formats and specifications in preparation for printing versus web.
● Must be extremely organized and detail oriented and excellent time management skills.
● Must have ability to work independently as well as in partnership with team.
● Prepare images to coincide with social and blog posts
● Assist with website and blog updates via WordPress
● Support team with administrative tasks
