Job description
Arcadia Publishing is the largest and most comprehensive publisher of local and regional books in the United States with nearly 15,000 titles in print. Headquartered in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Arcadia publishes 500 new books each year, including the iconic Images of America series.
The Assortment Strategy Managerplays an essential role in creating productive, thoughtfully crafted assortments of Arcadia books to drive outstanding sales and enhance localization efforts at a wide variety of retailers.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the work of one or more assistants engaged in developing thousands of hyperlocal book assortments for a range of retailer types
- Develop book assortment strategies for new and expanding retailer relationships
- Analyze sales and other data, including reporting from vendor-managed inventory platforms, to determine the performance of book assortments
- Work collaboratively with employees in other departments to ensure high quality execution in vendor-managed inventory relationships
- Write, refine and update SOPs
- Help ensure an outstanding customer service experience for retailers across a broad range of retail categories
- As needed, communicate with customers, merchandising services organizations, and other partners
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience — Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills — To perform this job successfully an individual will have superb Microsoft Excel skills. Also extremely helpful: experience working with order processing, project management and content management systems.
