FRIDAY February 8, 2019 – Rita Hollings Auditorium – 6:00PM
Join We Need to Talk, a nonprofit student organization, for “Black ARTstory: Journey Beyond the Eye.” This event features nationally known artist, Frank Hardy, from Selma, Alabama. Mr. Hardy utilizes his artwork to tell a story. He will be storytelling through his artwork towards the end of the event! This event is going to be focused on highlighting black art and the stories behind the art. As we know, art is a phenomenal way to express ourselves. The Black community especially has always uniquely valued and practiced art in its many forms from music, painting, drawing, cosmetology, photography and the list goes on. This event aims to really showcase the artists here on campus and artists in the community in general. We will be having various black artists who are students here at the College of Charleston who will be exhibiting and presenting their work.
