Day 2 – Friday Matthew Durigon

Good evening Dr. Gonzalez,
Day 2 with the crew was a little shaky but we ended on a high note. I woke up early and got breakfast, went on a run, and wasn’t allowed a second breakfast unfortunately. All jokes aside we went to a Logistics startup called Estoko and was greeted by a man named Rafael who explained what his startup did. I really enjoyed the bit on decarbonization and how they tackle pollution in their own scale compared to making drastic changes to their systems to meet ecofriendly regulations. After we had a great lunch and was introduced to Catalan style Chicken. We visited the largest market in Barcelona after and went to Sagrada Familia andd got to see the excellent sights and rich history of the church. The church provided beautiful pictures and my family was happy to see them. We’re going out as a group tonight and will update you tomorrow on how Night 2 went in Barcelona!

Day 1 – Thursday Matthew Durigon

Good evening Dr. Gonzalez,
For the very first blog post of our trip, I wanted to talk about my experience getting to where we will call home for the next 2 weeks. I had a very nice man on my flight from ATL -> BCE named Stephen. Stephen was from Vietnam, and we talked about finance and logistics, and he introduced me to international travel tips. Once we landed, I bud him farewell and got into an Uber with 3 fellow classmates on the way to the hotel. We arrived, checked in, and got lunch at a local cafe. Once everyone’s else arrived we had our group orientation where we got to learn the ropes with our tour guide for our trip. We went shopping after to buy some outfits to fit in with the locals and had a wonderful dinner with everyone. Great start to the trip and making everyday like it’s my last!
