The National Collegiate Choral Organization will hold its 5th annual conference at the College of Charleston campus and includes public concerts at surrounding facilities. Twelve competitively selected collegiate choirs will participate (see below), including the College of Charleston Concert Choir, which will collaborate with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Taylor Festival Choir, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in a feature performance of Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, Dona Nobis Pacem and two movements from Stephen Paulus’ Prayers and Remembrances. Conducted by Robert Taylor, the concert is at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Sottile Theatre, 44 George St. Tickets are $20 and $10 for College of Charleston students, and can be purchased in advance by contacting Christina Wynn at (843) 452-4442. The remaining concerts will be held at the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul (126 Coming St.) and the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (120 Broad St.), and admission is $15 at the door, $5 for College of Charleston students.
