Valerie Morris, Dean of the School of the Arts, received a “Women of Distinction” award (in arts education) from the Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina. Established in 1997, the award recognizes women living and working in eastern South Carolina who have demonstrated qualities of outstanding leadership, excellence in their personal and professional endeavors, and are role models for girls. The award was presented on May 10, 2010.
