Charleston Student Advocates for the Arts invites the public to a free Arts Advocacy Day on Sat. April 17 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The goal is to bring together College of Charleston students and Charlestonians to talk about the state of the arts in our city. The focus will be on the outcome of the S.C. Arts Commission’s budget cuts. Speakers include Ellen Dressler Moryl, director of the City of Charleston’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and Scott Shanklin-Peterson, president of the S.C. Arts Alliance. The event will be at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. RSVP to cofcartsadvocates@gmail.com.
