During Vice President Brown’s announcements James Williams, a staff member of the Addlestone Library spoke about the printing policy. For committee reports, the Academic Affairs committee is working on a bill to change Senate meeting to Thursdays instead of Tuesdays so that students may attend Faculty senate meetings on Tuesdays.

The beginning of Spring semester is flying by quickly, but as we look back at the Fall semester, our student body has much to be proud of. On Thursday, January 31st, I had the privilege to speak about many of these accomplishments as part of the State of the Student Body Address in Alumni Hall. In addition, SGA Vice President Seaton Brown talked about positive changes that he has witnessed within the SGA Senate, SGA Treasurer Anthony Parker updated the audience on the financial status of student organizations, and Graduate Student Association President Otis Pickett spoke about the state of the graduate student body. There will be a Student Organization Street Fair on February 6th, 2008 from 11-2 p.m. on George Street. This is a great opportunity to meet a variety of organizations on the College of Charleston campus in order for anyone to enrich their college experience.
There will be a Budget Workshop held on February 6th, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in Student Stern Center Room 206. This workshop is for sanctioned organizations and clubs who need assistance or have questions about the upcoming budget hearings. The Annual Budget hearings will be held on March 10-13th and the deadline to turn in application for budget proposals is February 29th, 2008.
January 29, 2008 brought President and Mrs. Benson, ice cream, and near thirty student guests to the senate floor.
The SGA hosted an Ice Cream Social at 4:00pm before senate to welcome students and other guests.
