Meet the President and Ice Cream Social

January 29, 2008 brought President and Mrs. Benson, ice cream, and near thirty student guests to the senate floor.

The SGA hosted an Ice Cream Social at 4:00pm before senate to welcome students and other guests.

President and Mrs. Benson came before senate and spoke about a wide range of topics including the strategic planning process, climate commitment, the smoking policy, CougarAlert System, campus potential, state funding, diversity, and more.

New legislation that was passed during senate on Tuesday included the Old Time Bluegrass Club and Human Resource Club to start their mandatory 28 day waiting period before becoming official clubs on the CofC campus. The senate installed Catherine Neal Sandifer as a freshman alternate Senator and Nickolas Boatwright as the chairman of the Campus Diversity Committee.

Monica Scott will come before the senate next week as well as James Williams who will be speaking on the printing policy.
