Reflective Engagement (RE) Specifications

You will be writing in class every time we meet, always at least once. Sometimes, additional prompts will be provided throughout a class meeting. Whenever you are generating a Reflective Engagement, it will be contributing to your Participation grade for the course.

You will write your RE on the day’s Google doc (which I will share in OAKS each day—find them in Content under “Reflective Engagement Google docs”) and then, before leaving class each day, you will submit your RE to that day’s Assignment folder (under the “Grades” menu tab) in OAKS.

The specifications for Reflective Engagements are pretty simple. Responses should:

  • be at least 150 words long
  • clearly respond to the prompt
  • present the student’s personal perspective
  • be informed by the material in that day’s reading assignment (using MLA works cited conventions, for any citations)
  • be submitted at the end of class

Each RE is worth 10 points, with 2 points earned for each specification.
