Every year, the Alpha Sigma Lambda Society awards an individual who accomplishes academic excellence while facing competing interests at home or work. The scholarship recognizes high scholastic achievement in an adult student’s career. This year, one recipient of the scholarship is Ali Anderson, a current student at the College of Charleston who is working towards a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree with a concentration in Project Management and Applied Communications .
Anderson is currently the Hospitality Operations Lead at Dry Farm Wines and is passionate about helping companies create the optimal customer experience. She has developed a keen interest in hospitality and problem solving from a young age and has been fortunate enough to have numerous career opportunities within restaurants, hospitality groups, and emergency services.
Due to her ability to recognize the rapidly evolving customer experience industry, she decided to further her education by returning to college. Through the advanced coursework at the College of Charleston, Anderson has been able to expand her knowledge base, which has helped her acquire specialized skills in project management and applied communications.
“I am sincerely grateful for the scholarship opportunity, which will help me continue to pursue my aspirations,” says Anderson.
Outside of her career and academia, Anderson is supported by her two children and husband. Her family firmly believes that continuous learning is instrumental to personal and professional growth.
