The journey post-graduation has already started for three College of Charleston students recently selected as research fellows for the prestigious Dr. Shawn Long Organizational Science Institute at UNC Charlotte, a program with a mission to help diversify the pipeline for graduate school and professionals working in organizational science fields.
Every year ten students are selected from a nationwide applicant pool to participate in a weeklong program that includes intensive mentorship, research training, GRE preparation, graduate school application preparation, and ultimately, long-term sponsorship.
Students representing the College of Charleston are:
Brea Fields, a senior majoring in business administration with a concentration in leadership for sustainability and a 2022-23 Schottland Scholar.
Destiny Humphrey, a junior double majoring in marketing and arts management and a School of Business student ambassador.
Elana White, a junior psychology major in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Assistant Professor of Management Oscar Jerome Stewart serves as the director of the program.
Research fellows will have the opportunity to work with top scholars in the field of organizational science and participate in various professional development workshops and networking events.
