Fall Major Declaration Analysis by Meta-Major

Last summer, the College launched Meta-Majors.  These guided pathways help students operate with intentionality when exploring which major is right for them.  The launch of meta-majors coincides with the updated requirement that students must have declared a major by the time they have achieved 45 earned credit hours.

Associate Provost for Student Success Dr. Christopher Korey recently provided data to Schools on major declaration patterns for our Fall 2024-enrolling first year (freshman) students.

Last summer, 695 first year (freshman) students shared an intended major in the School of Business when they registered for orientation.

Here’s a look at where those 695 Business-intending first-years are today with major declarations:

As of now, 65.47% of students who shared a Business-intending major when signing up for orientation have officially declared a School of Business major.

Out of those who have officially declared a major in Business, here is where they have declared:
