CofC Real Estate Graduates Gain Major Advantage with New Appraisal Institute Partnership
We have exciting news to share concerning the Carter Real Estate Center’s partnership with the Appraisal Foundation. The Appraiser Qualification Board has approved all graduates from the College of Charleston’s Bachelor of Science in Commercial Real Estate Finance Degree to receive credit towards all Real Property Appraiser designations.
All Appraisal Institute professional designations (Trainee, Licensed Residential, Certified Residential, and Certified General) require professional experience and significant amounts of classroom instruction. This is often undertaken at significant financial cost. With this partnership, Commercial Real Estate Finance graduates have satisfied most of their educational requirements upon completing their degree. The one most likely to be useful to Commercial Real Estate Finance graduates is the Certified General designation. Graduates in that path will have 285 of their 300 hours of instruction fulfilled by their undergraduate degree.
This approval and partnership with the Appraisal Institute extends to all future graduates in Commercial Real Estate Finance major and retroactively to all past program graduates.
This is a great opportunity for our graduates to get an advantage as they start their careers! We are excited to help the CofC students and graduates with value as they make their mark on the world!
