Students Disconnect and Get Out of the Classroom During Unplugged Week
Inspired by the work of Kelley Cours Anderson and the CofC Screen Savers Club, Alexis Carrico pledged to help all her students disconnect during CofC’s “Unplugged Week” with two field trips to local Charleston Organizations.
Alexis’ Management and Organizational Behavior classes visited the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston (RMHC) where the Director of Operations, Director of Volunteer Services and Director of Community Engagement (CofC MBA 23′ Graduate Maddie Duplantis) spoke to the students about RMHC’s Organizational Design and about the skills needed to lead with impact.
Carrico’s Business, Leadership and Society class visited local Social Enterprise Ibu Collective where they learned from Chief Marketing Officer, Lasley Steever, about the products Ibu sells and how they support capacity building, education and artisan engagement with women in developing countries.
