Drop-In Data – and Thank You!

Now that the drop/add period has ended (and I think I say this for us all:  WHEW!), I wanted to report some data that further personifies the growth we are all experiencing.

Below is a chart comparing drop-in attendance during the drop/add period from the three main semesters since the new centralized advising model began:

Fall 2023 Drop/Add

(Hours offered Aug. 18-28, 2023)

Spring 2024 Drop/Add

(Hours offered Jan. 10-17, 2024)

Fall 2024 Drop/Add

(Hours offered Aug. 16-26)

Total Sign-Ins for Advising Drop-In 172 166 366

(a 113% increase from Fall 2023)

…with this number of unique students supported 153

(meaning 19 students were supported more than once in drop-ins)

145

(meaning 21 students were supported more than once in drop-ins)

318

(a 108% increase from Fall 2023)

(meaning 48 students were supported more than once in drop-ins)

This doesn’t even include the International Business and study abroad drop-ins Matthew Zittritsch supported in the same time frame!

I want to share two big shout-outs:

  • THANK YOU to Robin Wibbenmeyer (formerly Bradley), Kenndal Rote, and Matthew Zittritsch for your non-stop, individual attention to student questions, concerns, need for reassurance, and (yes, at times) panicking.
  • THANK YOU to our colleagues in the academic departments for your collaboration to find solutions for students!  In many instances, we know you had to make magic happen.  This isn’t possible without our partnership and shared trust.
