The Dallas Experience

Market Process Scholars and Public Choice Associates from the Center for Public Choice & Market Process recently traveled to Dallas, Texas with CPM Director Peter Calcagno. They met with Robert Lawson, Director of the Bridwell Institute of Economic Freedom at SMU; CofC alum Rupert Munro, Chief Operating Officer at PERC; and Whitney Munro, President & CEO of FLEX Partners. The group also spent time with Brenda Pejovich, CEO of BFG Management Co.; Andrew Graham, Vice President of Academic & Strategic Affairs, Alliance Defending Freedom; Dan Garretson, Founder of FreightDesk.ai and Counter Flow Solutions; and Tom Giovanetti, President of the Institute for Policy Innovation.
The students attended The Bastiat Society of Dallas August meeting where Dr. Calcagno was the featured speaker. Additional highlights included lunching with Mark Wynne and Jesus Cañas of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, followed by a tour of the Fed. The group also visited Old Parkland, the George W. Bush Presidential Center Freedom Matters Exhibit, and The Sixth Floor Museum. Student participants in the Dallas experience were Corey Holcomb, Hunter Poe, Lilliana Myers, Lexi Redd, and Abby Elmore.
