New Concentration in Advanced Manufacturing added to BPS
Effective Fall 2024, Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) will add a new concentration in Advanced Manufacturing.
The concentration, created in partnership with the School of Science, Math and Engineering, will provide students with innovative, industry-relevant curriculum that provides a degree completion pathway for working adults in the manufacturing sector. This unique curriculum provides fundamental computer programming and engineering design, application-based experience in robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning as well as a working knowledge of supply chain, logistics and project management concepts all specific to the manufacturing setting.
All coursework within the concentration will be offered in a remote learning format to provide the flexibility that working adults need. The curriculum for the concentration was developed with input from a variety of industry partners and supports the College’s vision to “become a transformative national university redefining liberal arts education through innovation,” and further supports the SC Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Education Goal of exceeding the national average for awarding 2- and 4-year college degrees in disciplines that support SC workforce sector strategies. The concentration builds upon current coursework and provides opportunities for articulation agreements with SC Technical College institutions. We are currently awaiting the official letter from CHE to begin promotion.
