The Quiet Power of the In-Between
We’re standing in that brief, meaningful space between celebration and stillness—after winter commencement and before the holidays. On Saturday, the College marked another milestone for our graduates, complete with all the CofC traditions that make the day unforgettable. If you missed it or want to replay a favorite moment, you can find the livestream links here: Commencement | charleston.edu.
This week, I’m thinking about the quiet power of the in‑between. It’s a moment to catch our breath, to notice the good work we’ve done, and to choose rest so we can return ready for the work ahead. Higher education never really “stops,” but it does give us pauses that matter. Let’s honor them.
If you’re working, tie up one thing—just one—that will make January easier. If you’re pausing, really pause. And if you’re celebrating, celebrate well.
Thank you for everything you’ve poured into our students, colleagues, and community this fall. Our spring will be strong because of your effort and your care.
YOU make a difference!
Ponder this with me…
