Market Process Scholars from the Center for Public Choice mentoring program continue to make great strides post-graduation.
Lucas Moyon ’22, a Market Process Scholar and CofC alum, was cited for his research assistance in the Federal Reserve’s semi-decadal Framework Review. The Review was released in conjunction with the recent Jackson Hole speech. Moyon’s research assistance is cited in FEDS Papers 067, 069, 070, and 073. Moyon is a Senior Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC. He graduated from the CofC Honors College with degrees in economics, physics, and astronomy.
Former Market Processor, Riley Haas ’24 is part of the investment team at Beemok Capital. She was recently accepted to the Financial Mathematics graduate program at the University of Chicago. Riley said, “The curriculum will give me the opportunity to study at the intersection of mathematics, finance, economics, and computer science with a variety of coursework applying math to finance.”
Riley’s goal is to eventually transition her career path into a quantitative analyst, researcher, or trader role.
“I’m passionate about programming and quantitative problem-solving; I see coding as a form of creative logic, and I enjoy using it to tackle complex, real-world problems in finance. I’m pursuing this degree to build a much deeper foundation in key areas like financial theory, AI and machine learning for finance, derivatives pricing, and statistical modeling — all of which are critical for the types of quantitative roles I am interested in pursuing in addition to giving me the ability to apply it in my current role on the investment team at Beemok Capital,” she said.
Riley graduated from the CofC Honors College and earned degrees in Economics and Mathematics.
